Motion 1 (proposed by David O’Donoghue)
“To share the burden of financing club activities evenly and fairly amongst members it is proposed to adopt three categories of membership going forward from the 2014 season:
Full playing membership ($50 fee) – provides members with access to play in all competitive games for the club in addition to participation in both local leagues and practices. Exemptions to be provided for the $50 fee for this category of membership only in the following circumstances: a) members are unwaged/full time students, b) the year in question represents the first calender year of membership for new members.
Social memberships ($30 fee) – provides membership of the club for non-playing supporters of the club.
Hononary membership ($0 fee) – provides lifetime membership as approved by the Executive Committee to those who have rendered exceptional service to the club or the games or activities of the GAA.
All dues are liable to be be paid from 1st January of each year and must be paid in full by February 1st to participate in both local leagues and competitive games.”
“It is proposed that all players be encouraged to purchase their own equipment. Bulk purchases and associated discounts are to be facilitated by the club on a periodic basis to assist with this financial burden for individual players.”
“It is proposed to allow individual codes the opportunity to generate additional funds for their team via board approved fundraisers. These additionally raised funds will be used at the team’s discretion to help with individual player’s travelling expenses for nationals, jersey kits, and equipment. Codes will still be required to participate in club sanctioned events (golf tourney, pints on patio, pub quiz, etc.) in order to fulfil general club expenses including registration, Peach Cup, and field rentals. Codes cannot individually solicit from current club sponsors and fundraising ideas need to be voted on and approved through the executive board.”
“All fundraising is done by Clan na nGael as a whole club. No individual code is permitted to undertake fundraising for the partial (or complete) benefit of that code (or any limited combination of the four various Clan na nGael codes).”
